Art Educator In-Service Day

I count myself very blessed to be an art educator in the FWISD. We have such wonderful In-Service days where we learn new art making processes, get new materials to play with, share different ideas and gain inspiration from others. This year we're focusing on the book "Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain" By Betty Edwards. We split off into groups and spent an hour in different classrooms learning new techniques for drawing. It's a great way to start off the new school year. You could spend the whole year teaching from this book.

This was really fun, even though I really, really, really hate the grid process. Who Doesn't like to draw dinosaurs? Especially pink and blue ones?

This dinosaur likes to eat pencils...he's a 2B - Rex! Yeah, that was pretty lame of me. Sorry.

This drawing is by Olivia Garcia Hassell, a fellow art teacher. I think it's pretty awesome. Do dinosaurs go to heaven? Hmmmmm.... As you can tell, we have a lot of fun at these in-services. Thank you FWISD!
