Polka Dotted Owls (2nd Grade)

This adorable project taught 2nd grade students about collage, shapes, printmaking, and owls.

We began the lesson by talking about the elements of art (color and shape) and we learned some fun facts about owls.  Students then used the end of a pencil eraser to dip into paint to create polka dot prints onto the body of the owl.  They then cut different geometric shapes to create the eyes, wings, and beaks of the birds.
