Due to large classes, this lesson took about 6 weeks to complete...but let me tell you, the results were worth it.
First we talked about texture and form, then we practiced making forms and texture with clay.
Next I passed out cookie cutters and texture tools. We all pressed our clay flat and used to texture tools to make our designs. Then we pressed our cookie shapes out and poked a hole with a straw at the top.
After they were fired students created a batik effect by coloring them with oil pastels and painting over them with black tempera paint. After wiping the excess paint off I added string while students added their beads.
They did a great job, and the students were very proud of the work they did. Go Kinder!!!!
